Mechanical Shears

The Roper Whitney 10M14 mechanical shear is a perfect companion to the Roper Whitney Autobrake. The unit comes complete with a 121” material opening with a capacity of 14 gauge mild steel. It has a combination material hold-down/ finger guard with a non-marring urethane strip and positive spring actuated hold-downs, which will help prevent marring of the metal. The blades on the shear are a high-carbon/ high chrome long life tool steel blades, with the upper and lower blades being interchangeable to prolong the working life of the machine and blades. It also offers the ability to adjust the blade at the ram gibs. A 10’ inadvertent (double trip) foot actuated guarded switch along with a emergency STOP palm switch are just some of the standard features offered with the shear.

In addition to the standard features Roper offers a full length light bar for easy viewing of the cut, a air operated front material return and sheet support system, allowing sheared work material at the front of the shear. A 4’ side squaring arm with fixed stops and inlaid scale. A front sheet support with gauge bar along with 4 backgauge options.

The shear can come with a rear operated manual backgauge, a front operated manual back-gauge, a electric motor driven backgauge with digital read-out and lastly a motor driven back-gauge with encoder feedback and digital readout with 5 present positions.
